  "Confidentiality" of Elders!

  something struck me the other day.. elders are told to maintain confidentiality with regard to the details of judicial cases or congregation "discipline" in an attempt to dignify individuals etc.. this is even the case for known child abusers!.

  yet, if they suspect someone of being an "apostate", for instance being a member on this forum, they will spread such information far and wide, through the witness "grape vine" to congregations miles away (or even in other countries).

  so, does that mean they place more importance on "apostasy" rather than child abuse?.

  Never a JW but after watching the ARC and 5 years of experience with the "Elder" are they NOT confused as to what is truth and what is a lie oops theocratic warfare. I mean they are so used to lying it becomes second nature. I would not trust them with any piece of information nor would I trust any information that came out of their mouth. Sorry. Just my personal experience.

  the watchtower has always been deceptive in that it kinda says what sounds right - but what it really means is obvious to the rank and file.like in the x-files when the gov keeping "plausible denial" at all times.. this month highlights an article to help parents - "teaching children to obey".. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/g201505/teach-children-obedience-bible/.

  first off that phrase offends me - i know the wt feels children are "arrows" for fathers to aim, and not people who are to be nurtured to become their own unique person making choices that are right for them when they mature.

  and - they love the word obey!

  Never a JW, I never struck my children once when they were growing up and they are 2 very fine young adults today. I got many compliments on their manners and both of them when they recently were hired both were promoted within less then 90 days.

  Thanks for bringing this back. I was not here when this first appeared but this was definitely the "Elders" attitude at the time and I was getting a tad bit tired of Satan!!

  JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?

  i saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.

  they were not actively approaching anyone.

  what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

  Never a JW. I have yet to see a cart but to date since learning TTATT here is my score card.

  1. My friend owns one of the largest gas stations in this area in front of a large strip mall. There were always JWS handing out literature there. I waited till a couple was picking up literature and I asked about education, extra curriculum and children socializing. Then I reminded him he could find the CORRECT answers on pages ... of the Family booklet. Please review your Bible about lying. This guy peeled rubber off the parking lot and there has not been a JW insight on any part of this strip mall since.

  2. Two Special Pioneers rang my door bell the day of the Memorial. You can read all about it, they tried to escape but they got a good anti-witnessing for 30 minutes. Hopefully I planted some seeds in these young folks.

  3. About a month later a young Elder, his wife and their stroller with an infant rang my door bell. Again you can read all about it, I would have kept them longer but had to get to a Dr appt.

  Yes, yes I will approach if I can plant a seed and keep 1 child out of a KH it is well worth my time. I LOVE children not just my children ALL children. I have spent all my spare time when not working donating my time to benefit children. I cannot tolerate seeing children hurt sexually, physically or emotionally.

  The same goes for women.

  Dress and grooming

  i know this is an old topic, but it came to mind again.... yes it is appropriate for people to dress neatly and respectfully for a dignified religious gathering, but why does it have to be a full suit with collared shirt and tie?.

  why does it have to be a full dress or skirt and jacket?.

  sure, we would find it distasteful for a person to arrive in swimwear or work overalls or other inappropriate attire, but why does it have to conform to strict standards?.

  How long can this cult remain with only kids becoming members?

  it's become clear that very few from outside the religion are joining anymore.

  if only the kids of the people that are already in are the one replacing the members as they die off and 50% let's say of the kids leave then how long can they realistically last before the downturn becomes obvious?.

  I heard recently an elder's wife complaining quite vocally that she hasn't had a "stable" bible study in years. She also said she prays to Jehovah for a bible study that is actually a "normal" person.

  I found it hilarious myself. It just shows how the borg is only attracting social misfits looking for a community.

  What is bothersome though is that they don't listen to themselves when they speak. What does it mean that only people with mental/emotional problems are attracted to your religion? I mean come on.......

  Highlights are not correct. You are so right. After getting the Good Bye Have a Nice Life email from the "Elder" I researched the religion and then watched the first 8 broadcast. I was not at all impressed by a single one of the broadcast. One broadcast Jehovah will find a leak for a contractor when there are starving children -- Really!! The "Elder" had preached to me over and over about how the JWS are not into material things -- what are those rings and watches and those look like mighty fine suits -- just saying!! All that aside the content of the broadcast was very poor.

  Then there are the other memorable broadcast from an outsider looking in:

  Herd -- a woman's brain is smaller thus .... ( now I have always been a woman's advocate ) that went over like a lead balloon.

  Toni the ......-- tight pant ( I am 65 and my kids like my tight jeans)

  Toni -- marriage material MS or Elder -- sorry I read that book it is on line and the correct name for that one should be How to be the biggest baddest bully in town!! If I were looking for a hubby I sure don't want a bully.

  Then you have liar liar pants on fire. Sorry don't remember who gave that jewel.

  Oh, yes overlapping crap, now if that wasn't a wasted broadcast wait wait we didn't get it the first time so we came back and explained it again. Give it up.

  I will sum up ALL of Caleb and Sofia videos put them ALL in the TRASH!! I have advocated for children my entire life those are some of the most emotional abuse I have ever seen. There is no way I would allow my grandchildren to see a single one of those.

  Now you wonder why you have no one jumping at a Bible Study. The Internet, these broadcast, videos and cartoons are killing the WT.

  Just one outsiders opinion, it should most definitely be a men's only club! No kids and no women allowed!!

  Clarification about two witness rule please .

  i was talking to a witness the other day , she was explaining about false religion, and the subject of paedophiles came up .

  of course she was adamant that the watchtower deals swiftly and decisively with offenders .

  i was about to ask if she was aware of the two witness rule and how that is a let off for child molesters when l remembered reading on here that now they accept two different accusations from two different victims .

  I totally get it. I also get how women and children are treated as second class citizens in the KH. I have been here for a little over a year now. I asked a question one day why in the world does it take so many Elders for a congregation of 90 to 120. When you put women down continually, never give them any power, Herd telling them their brains are smaller -- OH yeah you are going to have a bunch of "Drama queens" as someone on this forum likes calling all of us women who speaks up.

  I was just a very rebellious kid starting at about 14 and all the gay men that hung out at my mother's house recognized that in me so when I see something wrong I fight. At that point I made it perfectly clear to my mother she was no longer going to beat me up or I would beat the crap out of her.

  And not knowing the JW rules because he never told me the rules, he sent me a good bye have a nice life email. I sent him an email in return threatening him if he did not explain himself. Men do not scare me, actually not much of anything scares me. I make sure my battles are legal and I take them down.

  Messes up her beautiful curls. I love it. They all have their own little habits that we just love.

  At Christmas one year I put a ring with bells on it on the inside of the door knob. This same dog decided instead of barking to go out she would ring the bells. So when Christmas was over this item had to stay.
